As you guys may have noticed, I haven’t been shooting too many JDMC features as of late. Because most of my spare time is dedicated to magazine features, this leaves little room for personal work. A few weeks ago I consciously decided to go back to my roots and I even started a thread asking for car submissions. One particular vehicle that stood out was this 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R (V-spec). Normally I don’t shoot totally stock cars, but this obviously isn’t your typical “stock” car.
JC and I met in Chicago’s west loop area for a quick shoot last Saturday. I wasn’t surprised to hear that JC has been life long Skyline fan. As a matter of fact, he has had several other Skyline/GTR variants over the years.
The opportunity to aquire a V-Spec GTR fell into JC’s lap several months ago. Needless to say, he did whatever he could to acquire this unicorn.
The V-Spec models features a firmer suspension compared to the standard GTR model, the ATTESA E-TS Pro system, and an active LSD at the rear.
JC doesn’t see himself making any major modifications to his GTR. He might consider some new wheels- but because of the rarity of this car, he prefers to keep changes subtle and reversible. Thanks for checking out this small feature and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments! -jdmchicago
