FNL Saturdays returns!

Preston Tucker sent us this cool video of our first “FNL Saturdays” car meet that was held on Saturday June 1 @ Arlington Toyota and Scion. Despite the rain and cold, we still managed to get about 1000+ cars at this event. Thanks again to everyone who came out and see you at the next one!

AE86 Modified Magazine Feature

Congrats to Luis Colon who just had his AE86 featured in the current (July 2013) issue of Modified Magazine. Although I shot this car last year, I was happy to shoot it a second time. The editor of Modified actually was going through JDMC and Luis’ car definitely stood out. He then asked me if the owner would be interested in a feature. Of course I didn’t expect Luis to say no. Anyways, here are a few bonus shots I thought I would share. Definitely go pick up this issue and support print!

4A-GE 20 valve motor, with 45mm ITB’s.

I’m a big fan of the overall look of the car, especially how it sits with the SSR MK II’s.

A few more interior detail shot that weren’t used in the magazine.

One last bonus shot from the feature shoot.

Slammed Society Chicago- Update!

SS-Chicago-event-flyer

As you guys know, we are working with Fatlace to bring you Slammed Society Chicago on June 30, 2013 @ Arlington Toyota & Scion (2095 North Rand Road, Palatine, IL 60074). It’s not very often a “national” type show comes to our city, so I hope we can represent proper! Registrations are going well, but there is still room for vendors and cars. Keep in mind that we are going to close registration for the car show at least 1 week prior to the show. If you are interested in being part of this event, then please register ASAP before it’s too late.   Also, tickets for spectators are only $10 if you purchase in advance. For more info and to register, please check out this link:  http://fatlace.com/slammed-society/chicago2013/

Andy’s 1990 CR-X SiR Cyber Top

I’ve been speaking to Andrew Thompson over the last year about possibly featuring his Honda CR-X.  At first I was somewhat hesitant since the car is fairly stock, but once I saw some photos I knew this would be a great car to shoot. This is only our second CR-X we have featured in the four years JDMC has been around, but I felt the car was worth some attention. Sometimes a simple and clean build is just as worthy as a fully built race project.

The CR-X was originally manufactured by Honda between 1983 and 1991. Today it still has somewhat of a cult following. Andy was very lucky to snag this particular model.  He is no stranger to the CR-X as he was originally introduced to a 1988 CR-X si model. That car was much different then the CR-X you see here, and even had a b16 swap. Note that the seats pictured above are originally from an NSX.

Eventually Andy’s ’88 had to go, but he still wasn’t done with the CR-X.  By sheer luck, Andy was able to find this 1990 JDM SiR glasstop model with original matched B16A. The car sat in pieces in a garage for two years due to lack of funding. Perseverance and patience paid off which allowed Andy to reassemble the car with mostly authentic Honda parts.

The SiR glass top only came in black and the Torino Red Pearl, so with that said, the car is a very limited model.

Although the newer Enkei 92’s are nice wheels, it’s nice to see the orignal Enkei Mesh with their trademark stepped lip.

Believe it or not, the car has zero rust and has only been resprayed once.

Thanks for checking out this feature and see  below for a full modification list.
